I rate this place with 2 stars, because the service came across as quite unfriendly. The glasses were sticky and already had chips. In addition, several people in my tour group did not tolerate the food well.
Well ... due to the corona, wait in front of the door until you are called. All good ? Then after 5 minutes of ignorance rushing past you are dealt with: "We're closing!" Have a wonderful good evening too ... Anyone who is in this mood has missed his job. There are soooooo many other nice rooms in Bernkastel
Just terrible, the operation doesn't work at all! Totally unfriendly and sloppy. You don't feel welcome as a guest. Although the tarte flambée was really tasty.
We were horrified, the junior boss was very unfriendly and you had to wait a long time, but that wouldn't have been bad if we hadn't had to be ashamed of others because the junior boss prefers to scold her employees loudly so that you can practically follow it up Bernkastel heard! We and my family will never enter this cafe again !!
Sorry but that wasn't really great. Service not exactly attentive (sat there for half an hour without drinks and didn't even ask if you wanted to drink something) very unfriendly, the only thing that could be rated positively was the cake which was delicious. But a next visit is very unlikely, but I don't think they care about that there anyway.
Super historical ambience. Fast friendly service. The cake was delicious. With pleasure again!
Very nice ambience, friendly service and the best apple strudel with ice cream and cream I have ever eaten.
Tourist trap. To be avoided.
The service was a bit long in coming here, too, despite the small number of walk-in customers. But the apple strudel, the iced coffee and the latte were all the better. Only the homemade wine cake was a bit disappointing as the bottom was too dry.
Friendly service. Nice food and not expensive! ?
The tarte flambée doesn't taste good and, according to the waitress, is "already done" before baking, which means that I can conclude that it is frozen goods. At 11.50 am the tarte flambé is too expensive for Bernkastel too. Drinks weren't cold. Service was friendly and the location is nice, but not recommended due to the poor quality of the food.
We had tarte flambée and wiener sausages. Both were delicious, the service was friendly and you sit there very nicely. However, the implementation of the hygiene rules that apply in Corona times is in need of improvement. As everywhere, you are asked to wait until the staff leads you to the table. A member of staff pointed out that a table in the outdoor area would soon be free and asked us to be patient. After a few minutes an elderly couple came and sat at the table that had become vacant, had not yet been cleared and disinfected (!). My husband pointed this out to the waitress. This only meant that unfortunately not everyone is as patient as we are. My husband kindly replied that it was their job to resolve the issue. The employee then asked the couple to clear the table. This was then disinfected for us. The waitress told us that she now had a bad feeling about having expelled older people and that all the regulations were nonsense anyway. Of course, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. However, there are requirements that everyone - guest and host - must adhere to. Compliance with these rules makes it easier for yourself and others. We suggest blocking the direct access to the tables with a band or a chain. This prevents guests from sitting at tables that are supposedly free and disinfected. We were able to observe this several times during our stay. Furthermore, the owners should better convey to their employees how to politely but firmly enforce the rules in conflict situations. If the rules there had been followed, I would have liked to have given one more point
Cozy cafe, friendly and fast service
Service still had a lot of room for improvement! When she ordered, she looked everywhere, just not to us. Two of the three of us had already communicated the drink order when my partner, third in the group, asked whether the apple strudel was vegan. I had to ask, she replied and disappeared so quickly that he couldn't order a drink. When she returned (with the two drinks ordered), she informed us that the strudel was not vegan - she did not ask about a possible (drink) request for my friend. Friendly and courteous is different. Also no address details, as is currently common in Corona times - but I do not know to what extent it MUST be.
We had a delicious iced coffee. We were served quickly and friendly! And looked at all the strolling people!
it is idyllic, cozy, friendly service, food and drinks good and clean
Just packed a terrace, tasty

Delicious coffee, nice service.

Great food and atmosphere here.
Low pie-cake selection (more is promised in the internet) unfriendly reception in the cafe and cake plate repeatedly struck a so valued cafe may not happen! Cappuccino also not recommended, small coffee cup used! Not recommendable!
Fantastic coffee shop in a great location. Very lovely and friendly staff with great products for great prices. I highly recommend.
